Taking Time…

The holidays are here and another year is coming to a close. As we enter the month of December our lives are filled with lists of things to do. It is usually the same for me. My lists feel longer than normal. I sleep less because I am trying to get one more thing crossed off. I don’t eat as well or make healthy choices. And my personal care routine often doesn’t get done because, “who has time for that?”

This year I challenge you to make a shift. I invite you to pause, reflect and celebrate.

  • Pause: Take time to sit where you can be quiet and still. Give yourself 10-20 minutes allowing your mind to slow down as you relax your body and soften your breath.
  • Reflect: Open your heart and mind reflecting on the days past. Remember the many things you have done, the people you have connected with, those you have helped and the causes you have supported.
  • Celebrate: YOU have made a difference. You impact our world and matter. You have shared your gifts with us. Thank you.

As I pause, reflect and celebrate, I am grateful for this year of discovery and growth. For my business it has been a HUGE year re-defining my brand, creating a logo, designing a new website and offering workshops all year long. I have made new friends, connected with new clients and explored new opportunities.

Throughout all of these adventures, I have also made it a priority to pause. Yoga nidra and meditation are a more regular part of my daily routine. These practices help me stay grounded and present not only to myself, but to my family and clients. I can reflect not only on these big milestones or events, but the day-to-day encounters; a hug from a child, a call from a friend, a good book to read, a place to call home. And celebrate with a feeling of a job well done, a life filled with passion and purpose and people to share all of this with.

Thank YOU for sharing your time with me. I know it is precious and I am so grateful for your support, encouragement and trust. It is hard to believe that 2019 is the beginning of my 19th year of teaching yoga. It is going to be a great year of continued growth and expansion. Stay connected to me as I add on to my online and in-person offerings.
