This slower-paced practice emphasizes different needs and sensitivities. We gain strength, flexibility, and balance through simplified poses (asanas) focusing on alignment. Breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation adapt to our current states of mind and body. Gentle yoga incorporates both standing, seated, and lying positions with modifications using props (blocks, strap, blankets, bolster) to practice in a way that is supportive and healing for every body. We pay extra attention to physical conditions and tender places needing a little TLC. Be ready for a balance of activity and rest in a comprehensive, soothing practice.
