Yoga Nidra (aka: Yogic Sleep) is the state of relaxation between wakefullness and sleep. It is a guided meditation to help "awaken" us and feel integrated and complete. Yoga Nidra is a practice of pratyahara, one of the eight limbs of yoga. The yoga sutra 1.2, "Yogas citta vrtti nirodha" tells us yoga is the restriction of the fluctuations of consciousness. Yoga is the stilling of the mind until it rests in a state of total and utter tranquility, so that one experiences life as it is: as Reality. One experiences life through the clearest of lenses — lenses not colored by thoughts of good or bad, or mine or yours. When the fluctuations of the mind are totally removed, we are at one with everything and all that is.
This workshop will include a lecture and practice to experience yoga nidra. Please wear comfortable clothing. You will rest on the floor. You can bring an eye pillow, blanket or anything else to make you comfortable. We will practice a 45-min yoga nidra meditation.
200 RYT with Yoga Alliance will receive 3 hours of YA CEUs.
